The Noh Stage
Kanazawa, where the culture of Noh has spread to the townspeople due to the encouragement of Noh by successive feudal lords, is home to the Kaga Hosho style of Noh. In 1917, the sixth generation of Ishiya, Ishiya Nizaemon, built this fully cedar-constructed Noh stage in celebration of his grandchild's birth. Known as the city where songs fall from the sky, Kanazawa is vibrant with Kaga Hosho Noh, but there are only a few authentic Noh stages remaining, including this inn. Please feel free to use this space for Noh performances and practice.
A Torchlight Noh Performance
Once a year, at our inn with a Noh stage, we hold a unique event called "Firewood Noh." Under the light of the bonfire, when performers dressed in traditional Noh attire appear, the atmosphere transforms completely, inviting you into a world of elegance and mystery. For about an hour and a half, you can enjoy breathtaking performances that will leave you speechless.
